Characteristics:
The Hindu laurel is an evergreen shrub or tree with an even-pinnate leaf arrangement. The leaves are light green and six inches long with three strong veins. The bold and laurel-like leaves densely cover the tree. The tree has a multi-trunked, pendelous form. When pruned as a shrub, it can develop into a sprawling low tree with an arching growth form. From its small yellow inconspicuous flowers, it produces a drupe, small, black berry-like fruit that is thin skinned and contains a pit.
