This species is distributed on stony hillsides and flats in the Goldfields-Esperance region between Kalgoorlie and Norseman of Australia (2).

Full sun is best for the growth of the silver gimlet.  Very hardy tree able to withstand temperatures to 18°F. E. campaspe is a low water use tree, best when watered once a month, or once every other month. This plant grows best on sandy-loam-clay soils (2).
