Eucalyptus salmonophloia has smooth bark throughout, pale-grey over salmon-pink to cream coloring, sheds in flakes. This beautiful tree can grow up to 85 feet tall. The young trees have different leaf types than the adults. The juvenile leaves are petiolate, opposite and have up to 10 nodes and are dull green to grey-green. The adults have the same petiolate but the leaves are very glossy and green. They produce buds that are globular to ovoid. Their formation of buds are four vertical rows of ovules. They give way to creamy-white flowers. Lastly, the fruits are pedicellate, hemispherical to slightly obconial (in the form of an inverted cone) and are fragile. The produce brown, flattened-ovoid, smooth seeds (1).

This species of Eucalyptus is endemic to the Avon Wheatbelt and Coolgardie regions of south west Western Australia. This species of tree has been distributed to the western areas from York and Nartham then South to Jerramungup in Australia (2).
Cultivation Notes:
Eucalyptus salmonophloia grows best in alkaline loams and semi-arid climates. This plant is a slow grower and has shallow roots. Protect from browsing animal, this will make sure the plant will become well established (2). This plant is sensitive to saline soils and water-logged soils.
Ethnobotany:
This plant is valued by human for making good fence posts, ornamental attributions, shelter-belt or shade for live stock. The flowers nectar can be crafted into honey of used for apiculture (beekeeping). This specimen wood is used in many ways, craft-wood, flooring, heavy construction, high quality fuel-wood, industrial charcoal and much more (2).
