Characteristics: Parthenocissus 'Hacienda creeper' is closely related to the Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia), but its leaves are smaller and thinner (1,3). It was originally discovered in a hacienda garden in Mexico, and is believed to be a cultivar of either P. quinquefolia or P. tricuspidata, but no there has been no authoritative answer (1,2). This vine grows a thick cover of bright green, palmate leaves that turn a deep brown in the fall (1,2,3). It will cling to fences and walls and works well as a screen (1).
