Characteristics: The La Paz fairy duster is a desert shrub with an alternate, bipinnate leaf arrangement. Fairy dusters are winter evergreens, meaning they keep their leaves year round. C. peninsularis also grows to be a larger bush with a brighter red flower than other Calliandras.
